Tina Taylor, LCSW
My name is Tina Taylor and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with children and adolescents for over 28 years in many different capacities. I am currently working as a School Social Worker for Sweetwater County School District #1, and practice at Root to Rise part-time as an independent contractor. My passion has always been working with children and adolescents; helping them learn how to manage their thoughts, feelings and behavior, in our difficult and ever-changing world. I believe that all children deserve to feel safe, happy, and supported.
I approach therapy with a solution-focused mindset, combining teaching and learning strategies to help clients practice new ideas and ways of responding to challenges. I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. Together, we set specific goals and work toward them through conversation, play, role-playing, and skill-building activities. My approach often incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which emphasizes how our thoughts influence our feelings and, in turn, our behaviors. I empower clients to work on making positive changes so that they can be happy and healthy. They truly do have this ability, but they just might not be aware of how to make it happen. I can help.
I primarily work with children and adolescents ages 5-17 with an emphasis on those who have ADHD, anxiety, anger management issues, impulse control, autism and/or depression. My style tends to include teaching, practicing behavior management activities and ideas; as well as incorporating play during our time together. In my free time you will find me taking my dog, Tucker, for a walk, reading, traveling, and enjoying time with my grandchildren.
